Join us on Thursday 26 November for an evening of generous food, shared around the table in true Thanksgiving style. Our kitchen has put together a special family-style menu inspired by the occasion, with all the comfort and generosity you’d expect from a Thanksgiving dinner.
We’ll be dining together for the evening, with guests seated across communal tables and dishes served family-style to pass, share and enjoy. Come with friends, family, or come along and join the table.
Settle in, pour a glass of something good and enjoy an evening made for gathering.

18 November, 2026This November, we’re bringing a taste of Martinborough to the Thistle for a special evening with Palliser, as part of Taste of Wairarapa.
For one night, our kitchen and Palliser have come together on a four-course menu with matched wines, with each dish crafted around what’s being poured alongside it.
Joining us at the table is Palliser winemaker Guy McMaster, who’ll take us through the wines as the evening unfolds - from the first glass through to the final course.
It’s a chance to settle in for four courses, discover some brilliant Wairarapa wines, and hear a little more about what goes into each bottle from the person behind them.

17 October, 2026The Hupstein Eng Trio presents an afternoon of classic vocal jazz at The Thistle Inn, inspired by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Chet Baker. Featuring Hupstein Eng on vocals and guitar, Freddy Sayer on piano, and Jacob Meikle on double bass, the trio brings a warm, intimate sound to swinging standards, bossa novas, ballads, and favourites from the Great American Songbook. With bouncy swing, playful interaction, and tasteful improvisation, the trio offers a relaxed afternoon of timeless jazz at one of Wellington's cosiest historic venues.

Wellington Jazz Festival 2026: Les Tripes
16 October, 2026Get ready for a night of irresistible rhythm and sizzling jazz!
Swing clarinetist Oscar Lavën, guitarists Adrian Jensen and James Quick, and double-bass raconteur Robert Henderson are "Les Tripes" (french for "The Guts"); a hard-working interpretation of the irresistibly heart-pumping film-noir sound of Django Reinhardt's Quintette du Hot Club de France. Lavën, Jensen, Quick,and Henderson are professional musicians based in Wellington, and have honed their project through years of performance in venues large and small.
Les Tripes will have you tapping your feet and swinging along as they infuse each performance with passion, precision, and a touch of French flair.

Wellington Jazz Festival 2026: Michael Munro Band Presents King of Swing
14 October, 2026The Michael Munro Band plays 'Jazz' with strong influences from Blues, Latino, Brazilian, French and Rock music.
Throughout 2026 The Michael Munro Band has performed a series of evenings at The Thistle Inn wholly dedicated to these genres.
Vocalist and pianist, Michael Munro, performed professionally in London for over a decade. He has also performed in New Orleans, Singapore and Tahiti for extended periods.
For the 2026 Wellington Jazz Festival, Michael Munro will perform at The Thistle Inn with a 5-piece line up of talented Wellington musicians: Drummer – Maurice Philips, Bassist – Paul Mouncey, Trumpeter – Chris Selley, and Saxophonist – Andre Paris.
